Ølen Betong's operations consist of several divisions and departments in Norway. The head office is in Ølensvåg, 50 km from Haugesund. The company is owned by 'ØB Group AS' and is part of the Nordic Concrete Group, which is the country's largest producer of ready-mixed concrete, elements and concrete products.

NCG is established with 65 locations (mixing plants and factories) in Norway. This also includes several mobile concrete mixing plants. The group has approx. 800 employees and 500 heavy vehicles (of which 'Ølen Betong AS' and 'Ølen Betong Transport AS' makes up 200 employees and 150 vehicles). The group manufactures and supplies concrete solutions for building and construction sites throughout Norway. Total gross turnover in the group is approx. NOK 3.5 billion.

The company 'Ølen Betong AS' is organised in three product divisions:

• Ready-mix concrete
• Concrete products
• Precast concrete units

The companies: Ølen Betong AS and the sister company Ølen Betong Transport AS, are wholly owned by ØB Group AS together with several other companies (Forsand Sandkompani AS, NOR Aggregates AS, HGB Betong AS, Sandnes & Jærbetong AS, S&J Transport AS, Ribe Betong AS, Ribes Betongtransport AS, Hå Element AS and SVB Gruppen AS). ØB Group AS is owned by Nordic Concrete Group AS which in turn is owned with 50% each of Ølen Betong Gruppen AS and KB Gruppen Kongsvinger AS.

The company 'Ølen Betong AS' was established in 1974 by two local businesses with traditions dating back to the 1950s with the production of various concrete products. In the winter of 1977-78, Ølen Betong AS moved into new production premises at Bergsneset in Ølensvåg (now: Vindafjord municipality), approx. 50 kms east of Haugesund (along mainroad E134). Over the years, Ølen Betong has expanded significantly through the establishment of new departments and companies, acquisitions and mergers.

Logistics

ØB Group AS and its subsidiaries have assembled a logistics division of 270 heavy vehicles (for transportation and pumping of concrete), in addition to several smaller cars, forklifts and wheel loaders. Hence has the company 'Ølen Betong Transport AS' over 150 lorries and mixer trucks and take responsibility the logistics on behalf of 'Ølen Betong AS.' Other logistics companies in this group are: 'S&J Transport AS', 'Ribes Betongpumping AS' & 'Haugaland Containertransport'.
